Q: Are the Prowlers a football or cheerleading organization?
A: We are both.
Q: Do the Prowlers play flag football, tackle, or both?
A: Our football program participates only in tackle football.
Q: Are the Prowlers an in-house or travel program?
A: We are a travel program.
Q: Do the Prowlers conduct try-outs?
A: No. We are an open-registration program competing in an open-registration conference.
Q: What age can my child begin participating?
A: Any child wishing to participate in our football or cheer program must be at least 6 years of
age on 01 August.
Q: When does the season begin?
A: Both football and cheer begin practicing toward the end of July. Our games begin toward
the end of August.
Q: What is the practice schedule like?
A: For the first few weeks of the season before the school year begins, our football teams
practice 4 to 5 nights per week while our cheer teams practice 2 to 4 nights per week. Once
the school year begins, football drops down to 3 nights per week while cheer drops down to
2 to 3 nights per week.
Q: What conference do the Prowlers compete in?
A: We compete in the Chicagoland AYF conference. AYF (American Youth Football) is the
nation’s largest youth football and cheer organization.
Q: What towns do the Prowlers compete against?
A: We play a ten game schedule (plus playoffs) with our opponents ranging among 20+ other
programs in the Chicagoland area.
Q: How far are away games?
A: Our away game travel times can range between 25 minutes and 1 hour, 15 minutes. Our
average away game travel time is about 40 minutes.

Q: What equipment am I responsible for providing my participating child?
A: Our fees include all game-day gear for football players and cheerleaders – including
Riddell® Revolution helmets for all football players. The only items not included in our fees
are practice pants and practice jerseys for football players and shoes for cheerleaders.
Q: Where is practice held?
A: Our football teams and cheer squads practice at Ira Jones Middle School.
Q: Where are home games played?
A: Our home games have historically been played at a combination of Four Seasons Park, Ira
Jones Middle School, and Plainfield South High School. It is our intent to continue playing
at Ira Jones and Plainfield South.
